Summer is Fire

A fire burns down a house at 561 22nd Street in Ogden Friday, July 31, 2009. Ogden Fire Chief Mike Mathieu said the cause of the fire was two juveniles playing with gasoline. Seven people live in two different apartments in the house, which was a total loss. The house to the west also caught fire.

Victoria Chukwu, 21, was asleep in her apartment when she was awoken by sirens and flames. She was able to get her young daughter, Tatiyahna, and roommate, Shanae Sanders, out safely. "I'm in shock. I just keep thinking, what if I didn't wake up?" she said.
