Aces at the Boys & Girls Club

The Aces boys shared their time and basketball and lunch-making talents with some of the cool kids at the Anchorage Boys & Girls Club. Mark Guggenberger is a great goalie and knows his way around the court!

Hibernating Arctic Ground Squirrels

Postdoctoral fellow Cory Williams holds a hibernating arctic ground squirrel in a research lab in the Integrated Sciences Building at the University of Alaska Anchorage Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. Williams is working with professor Loren Buck and student Brady Salli to study the circadian rhythms and chronobiology of the animals to determine their sensitivity to extended periods of light and dark and how they know when to hibernate. Ultimately, they hope to correlate the research to human behavior.

Aces Stride

I followed the Alaska Aces boys around during the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Anchorage, Alaska Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.

Freelance work for the Alaska Aces. I had to post a few pictures because the Aces staff is awesome, it was a fun event, and they did a great job with the photos from this event in the game day program last weekend. And, you know, hockey.
