Utah Public Lands for the NYT




Utah Gov. Gary Herbert signed House Bill 148, authored by chief sponsor Rep. Ken Ivory who spoke before the signing, which states the federal government of the United States is required to extinguish title to public lands and transfer title to those public lands to the state of Utah, at the Capitol in Salt Lake City Friday, March 23, 2012.

GOP Caucus for the NYT







There was huge turnout for the Utah GOP caucuses, including the one held at Pleasant Grove Junior High School in Utah County Thursday, March 15, 2012. The national Tea Party-aligned organization Freedom Works collaborated with Utah activists in an effort to elect delegates who would oust six-term Sen. Orrin Hatch, but many pro-Hatch delegate-hopefuls showed up as well. Hatch is running against former state Sen. Dan Liljenquist, the Tea Party favorite, and state Rep. Chris Herrod.
